Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has successfully concluded the second and final phase of the Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Corridor Improvement Project. Spanning 8 kilometres along Ras Al Khor Road from Dubai-Al Ain Road to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, the project involved the construction of four bridges, totalling 2 kilometres in length.

The first phase focused on widening Ras Al Khor Road, increasing it from three to four lanes in each direction. Additionally, two main bridges were constructed, facilitating smoother traffic flow and reducing travel time. The second phase included the construction of a two-lane bridge with a length of 988 meters, offering a free left turn for traffic incoming from Nadd Al Hamar Road towards Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road. Another two-lane bridge measuring 115 meters was built to serve traffic from Nadd Al Hamar Road to Ras Al Khor Road towards Dubai-Al Ain Road, along with a 368-meter two-lane underpass providing a right-turn for traffic from Ras Al Khor Road heading to Nadd Al Hamar.

These infrastructure enhancements aim to improve traffic safety and flow, enhance road capacity, and eliminate existing traffic congestion points along the Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Corridor.

In related news, the RTA recently implemented traffic improvements on Al Seba Street, specifically in the direction of the Sheikh Zayed Road – Garn Al Sabkha Street intersection. The enhancements included the construction of an additional exit on Al Seba Street towards the intersection, easing traffic and offering a capacity of 1,500 vehicles per hour.

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance road infrastructure and ensure smooth traffic flow, the RTA advises motorists of expected delays at the Khalid Bin Al Waleed Road and Al Mina Street intersection from July 9 until July 23. Alternative routes such as Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Kuwait, or Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Streets are recommended to minimise disruptions.

The completion of the Dubai-Al Ain Road improvement project and the implemented traffic solutions demonstrate the RTA’s commitment to enhancing transportation infrastructure and ensuring the safety and convenience of road users in Dubai.
